J’espère que vous allez bien. Je vous retrouve aujourd’hui pour un roman qui fait parti d’une série de 4 romans, tous écrits par un auteur différent mais se déroulant dans la même ville de Ruby Gulch et dans le même univers. Je n’ai lu que le roman de BA Tortuga et je ne sais pas si je lirai les autres ou pas. En attendant, résumé:
When Owen McBride sees his lover Jericho stagger into their homestead outside of Ruby Gulch, New Mexico, he thinks he’s seeing the dead come back to life. Jericho was lost to him when the wagon train he was leading was taken by monsters called Eaters, and Owen expected to be alone the rest of his life.
Blind, poisoned by magic, and near real death, Jericho Nater comes back to Owen, needing the love his man offers, and his help. The doomed wagon train’s children are still alive, and Jericho has promised to go back for them. Owen can’t bear to lose Jericho again, but he would never deny Jericho something so important. Together they must find a way to save those kids, and to make their way home alive.
FR- Alors alors… alors j’adoooooooooooore les romans de BA Tortuga et celui ci ne fait pas exception à la règle.
J’ai un peu hésité avant de le commencer parce que l’aspect paranormal me faisait un peu peur. Mais je ne regrette pas du tout d’avoir sauté le pas. J’ai adoré ce roman. Je l’ai lu en quelques heures et je n’ai pas pu le lâcher. Je l’ai lu d’une traite et j’en ai adoré chaque page.
Alors oui, on retrouve toujours l’argot qui est toujours un peu difficile à lire quand on ne le maîtrise pas (ce qui est mon cas). Mais une fois qu’on se fait à cette idée et qu’on passe au dessus, tout va bien.
J’ai beaucoup aimé l’univers proposés par les auteurs. C’est un peu obscur parfois mais suffisamment explicite pour ne pas être gêné dans notre lecture. Les éléments fantastiques sont cohérents et intriguant, légèrement flippants et très bien maîtrisés. Les différentes magies sont suffisamment décrites pour qu’on les comprennent et la mythologie de l’univers est bien développé.
J’ai adoré les personnages du roman, que ce soit le couple principal ou les personnages secondaires. J’ai trouvé l’intrigue très bien menée et je me suis laissée entraîner au fil des pages sans jamais perdre mon intérêt.
J’ai adoré l’histoire d’amour entre Owen et Jericho. Je l’ai trouvée très belle et très forte. J’ai vraiment passé un excellent moment de lecture .
Encore une fois, tous les éléments que j’aime dans les romans de l’auteure sont réunis et je ne peux que trop vous conseiller ce roman.
ENG- So well well well… well I hesitated a bit before starting it because the paranormal aspect scared me a little. But I don’t regret taking the leap at all. I loved this novel. I read it in a few hours and I couldn’t let it go. I read it in one go and I loved every page of it.
So yes, we always find slang which is always a bit difficult to read when you don’t master it (which is my case). But once you get used to the idea and go over it, everything is fine.
I really liked the universe proposed by the authors. It is a bit obscure at times but sufficiently explicit so as not to be embarrassed in our reading.The fantastic elements are coherent and intriguing, slightly creepy and very well mastered. The different magics are described enough to be understood and the mythology of the universe is well developed.
I loved the characters in the novel, whether the main couple or the secondary characters. I found the intrigue very well led and I let myself be carried along the pages without ever losing my interest.
I loved the love story between Owen and Jericho. I found her very beautiful and very strong. I really had a great time reading.
Once again, all the elements that I like in the novels of the author are there and I can only advise you too much about this novel.
