Salut mes p’tits chats!

One kiss ended in tragedy.

Now they have a second chance to do it right.

Lane:

Bull fighter. Heart throb. Wild card.

Rodeo pro Lane Bell knows a thing or two about taking damage.

He’s made a career out of punishing himself, but he can’t outrun his troubled past. Not when it shows up in an irresistible package to spring him from county lock-up and demand he come home.

Denver Reed is rugged and ripped, with a voice like smoke and eyes that watch every move he makes.

Lane fell hard for him once, but never again.

Because Denver is straight.

Denver:

Bull rider. Mystery. Legend.

Denver Reed has never known anything but denial.

He once set the world on fire on the back of a bull, but his chance at fame is long gone. Because when Lane took off, it was Denver who sacrificed everything to clean up the shattered mess he left behind.

Denial has kept Denver alive all this time.

Denying what he feels for the sinful bull fighter with the lightning eyes and quick grin. Denying the fact that he craves Lane more than air to breathe. Denying his very nature.

Because Lane already broke his heart once.

He can’t survive it a second time.

ENG- So well well well… well I was eager to find another book of this author whom I really like and who had been rather rare in recent months. I really liked Down Low and I couldn’t wait to find this universe again.

Lane is Cal’s best friend, from volume 1. Unlike Cal he is not a bullrider but a bullfighter, I liked discovering a little more this aspect of the rodeo even if, in the end, the novel takes place mainly in Lane’s parents’ ranch.

I really liked the main characters. Whether it’s Lane still clearly carrying his guilt over his brother’s death on his shoulders, or Denver struggling to give himself what he wants.

The story is mostly from Lane’s point of view, I admit that I would have liked to have had Denver’s point of view on some things even if that doesn’t change the story much.

I let myself be carried away by the touching story of these two men scarred by life. I really enjoyed seeing them change in contact with each other and finally move forward. However, I sometimes found that it was a little too much and that Lane always rehashes the same excuses a bit, especially when it comes to his relationship with Denver without really asking the latter’s opinion. It is in this sense that I would have liked to have a little the point of view of Denver.

In summary, I really liked the ranch aspect, I liked learning a little more about the rodeo, I really liked the family and the entourage of Lane and Denver and the different relationships that Lane has with each one. of them.

The romance between Lane and Denver was both scorching and touching, I liked that it was a slow burn and an enemies to lover and I especially liked the author’s pen.

A series to discover without further delay.
