J’espère que vous allez bien. Je vous retrouve aujourd’hui pour vous parler de Man of Honor de Parker St John que je remercie pour ce SP. Il s’agit du premier roman d’une nouvelle série de l’auteur.

FR- Alors alors…. alors j’aime énormément la plume de Parker St John. J’avais hâte de découvrir cette nouvelle série.
Et je n’ai pas été déçue. J’ai littéralement dévoré ce roman en quelques heures. Une fois que je l’avais commencé, impossible de le lâcher. Man of Honor se déroule en Louisiane dans la petite ville de Devil’s Garden. J’ai clairement retrouvé l’ambiance particulière du bayou que j’avais pu visiter en 2019.
Je me suis immédiatement attachée à Gage.
Dans Man of Honor, Parker St John nous livre l’histoire de Gage. On retrouve plusieurs thèmes que j’aime beaucoup : une romance compliquée, des sentiments très forts, une famille de coeur dont les relations sont compliquées. J’ai adoré découvrir les 5 frères Beaufort et j’ai hâte de voir ce que l’auteur a en réserve pour eux.
Man of Honor est une histoire de deuxième chance.
De découverte de soi. Il s’agit de laisser le passé derrière soit et d’avancer. De devenir soi même. J’ai aimé la façon dont les frères Beaufort essayent de faire vivre l’héritage que leur a laissé leur père adoptif. Prendre soin des plus faible, aider la communauté. Et dans cette petite cille de Devil’s Garden, le mal et la corruption ont de beaux jours devant eux.
Cet héritage suit la famille Beaufort depuis plusieurs génération et j’ai hâte de voir ce qu’ils vont en faire dans les prochains tomes.
J’ai trouvé les personnages assez développé. L’intrigue est bien menée. Parker St John, comme toujours, nous livre un univers travaillé qui me donne très très envie de lire la suite. On est clairement au cœur du bayou, dans cette ambiance lourde et humide du sud des Etats Unis.
En résumé, un excellent premier tome qui m’aura fait verser ma petite larme. Une série à suivre.

And I was not disappointed. I literally devoured this novel in a few hours. Once I started it, I couldn’t put it down. Man of Honor takes place in Louisiana in the small town of Devil’s Garden. I clearly rediscovered the special atmosphere of the bayou that I was able to visit in 2019.
I immediately became attached to Gage.
In Man of Honor, Parker St John gives us Gage’s story. There are several themes that I really like: a complicated romance, very strong feelings, a family of hearts whose relationships are complicated. I loved discovering the 5 Beaufort brothers and I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for them.
Man of Honor is a story of second chances.
Of self-discovery. It’s about leaving the past behind and moving forward. To become yourself. I liked the way the Beaufort brothers try to keep alive the legacy left to them by their adoptive father. Caring for the weakest, helping the community. And in this small town of Devil’s Garden, evil and corruption have a bright future ahead of them.
This legacy has followed the Beaufort family for several generations and I can’t wait to see what they will do with it in the next volumes.
I found the characters quite developed. The plot is well done. Parker St John, as always, gives us a well-crafted universe that makes me really want to read more. We are clearly in the heart of the bayou, in this heavy and humid atmosphere of the southern United States.
In summary, an excellent first volume that made me shed a little tear. A series I’ll be following.
