No Ghosts (The Cowboy and the Dom #3) de BA Tortuga et Jodi Payne

J’espère que vous allez bien. Pour ma part, ça va super bien. Je suis contente d’être relativement à jour dans mes ARC et mes chroniques même si ce n’était pas gagné il y a encore quelques jours. Je vous retrouve aujourd’hui pour la chronique du 3eme et dernier tome de la série The Cowboy and the Dom de BA Tortuga et Jodi Payne, intitulé No Ghosts. Couverture, résumé:

FR- Alors alors… alors je suis assez partagée suite à la lecture de ce troisième et dernier tome de cette série.Je n’aime pas beaucoup le BDSM. Tout simplement parce que je lis très peu de roman dans ce genre et que je ne suis pas encore « habituée » à ce type de pratiques. Dans cette série, cependant j’aime beaucoup la façon dont les auteures appréhendent cet aspect et j’aime particulièrement qu’on reste sur du BDSM soft. J’ai particulièrement aimé que ce point ne soit pas l’objet central des premiers tomes même si je dois reconnaître que cela prenait de plus en plus de place au fil des tomes.Le résumé du premier tome laissait sous entendre un aspect un peu plus policier à cette série et c’est ce point là qui m’a légèrement déçue. Je m’attendais à plus d’enquête plus de suspens et dès le deuxième tome j’avais deviné qui était le méchant . De plus, l’aspect policier est très très peu abordé et de manière très superficielle. Je trouve dommage que ça soit aussi mis en avant dans le résumé du premier tome pour au final à peine l’aborder.

Donc j’ai du faire le deuil de ce que j’attendais pour cette série qui se concentre principalement sur la relation entre Sam et Thomas.
Et c’est en grande partie ce qui fait que je suis partagée. J’ai énormément aimé cette trilogie. J’ai trouvé très intéressant la façon dont les auteures appréhendent la relation entre Sam et Thomas. J’ai énormément aimé l’évolution des deux personnages tout au long de la trilogie et encore plus la façon dont ils vont trouver leurs propres règles que ce soit dans leur vie personnelle ou dans leur relation Dom/Sub. J’ai d’ailleurs beaucoup aimé la façon dont Thomas vas ajuster ses repères, ses habitudes, en fonction de Sam et surtout j’ai aimé que ça ne soit pas évident pour lui et qu’il mette du temps à s’adapter à Sam et à ses besoins.

Si on oublie l’aspect policier, c’est une très bonne trilogie. L’aspect psychologique et relationnel est au premier plan et très très bien traité. Comme je le disais plus tot j’ai énormément aimé l’évolution des personnages tout au long de ces trois tomes.

En résumé, une très bonne série, qui traite très habillement des difficultés à s’adapter à une nouvelle relation, de l’acceptation de soit et de l’autre.Et des relations en général.

Petit bonus , il va y avoir une série spin off avec des personnages secondaires que j’aime énormément et dont j’ai hâte d’avoir l’histoire.

ENG- So well well well… well I am quite divided after reading this third and last volume in this series. I don’t really like BDSM. Simply because I read very few novels in this genre and I am not yet « used » to this type of practice. In this series, however, I really like the way the authors understand this aspect and I particularly like that we stay on soft BDSM. I particularly liked that this point was not the central object of the first volumes even if I must admit that it was taking more and more place in the course of the volumes. The summary of the first volume suggested a slightly more aspect policeman in this series and it was this point that slightly disappointed me. I expected more investigation more suspense and from the second volume I had guessed who was the bad guy. In addition, the police aspect is very little addressed and in a very cursory manner. I find it unfortunate that this is also highlighted in the summary of the first volume to ultimately barely tackle it.

So I had to mourn what I expected for this series which mainly focuses on the relationship between Sam and Thomas.
And that’s largely what makes me split. I really liked this trilogy. I found it very interesting the way the authors approach the relationship between Sam and Thomas. I really liked the evolution of the two characters throughout the trilogy and even more the way they will find their own rules whether in their personal life or in their Dom / Sub relationship. I also really liked the way Thomas will adjust his benchmarks, his habits, according to Sam and especially I liked that it is not obvious to him and that it takes time to adapt to Sam and his needs.

If we forget the police aspect, it’s a very good trilogy. The psychological and relational aspect is in the foreground and very very well treated. As I said earlier I enormously liked the evolution of the characters throughout these three volumes.

In summary, a very good series, which deals very cleverly with the difficulties of adapting to a new relationship, the acceptance of one and the other, and relationships in general.

Small bonus, there will be a spin off series with secondary characters that I love very much and whose history I look forward to.
