Comment allez vous? Comment ça je me met à jour avant mon départ pour les vacances? Je ne vois pas du tout de quoi vous parlez^^… Je vous retrouve aujourd’hui pour la chronique de Rear Ended, qui est le tome 4 de la série Big Bull Mechanics de KM Neuhold, que je remercie pour cet ARC. Résumé :

Love is a highway, and Henry just got Rear Ended

I’ve spent my entire adult life working eighty hours a week, chasing money, security… success. When my recent start-up went under, leaving me with nothing to show for years of grinding myself down to the bone, I’m not sure who I am anymore. I never thought I’d be forty-eight with no money, living with my brother, trying to figure everything out from scratch. But, here we are…

All that chasing didn’t leave a lot of time for romance or relationships either. Unless you count the occasional hook-up to let off a little steam. Now I have all the free time in the world… but who would want a middle-aged failure anyway?

When one of my most recent hook-ups turns out to be my new coworker, I’m starting to think the universe is having a good laugh at my expense. As if Auggie wasn’t tempting enough with all of the tattoos and his surprisingly sweet smile, now I’m spending all day watching him work. He’s covered in grease, with his overalls half zipped… is it getting hot in here, or is it just me?

He’s impossible to resist, but that doesn’t make the timing any better. Body work is one thing, but I’m determined to keep my heart out of it. If only Auggie would stop baking me cookies and touching me in ways that keep my engine running all night long. I think we’re going to need some coolant in here, because things are definitely heating up…

FR- Alors alors… alors comme je vous l’avais dit dans ma chronique du tome précédent, j’avais légèrement moins aimé le tome 3 que j’avais trouvé trop axé sur le sexe. Ici aussi il ya beaucoup de sexe mais j’ai clairement été très touchée par les personnages ce qui fait que je n’ai pas du tout eu la meme sensation que dans le tome 3. Peut etre parce que cette fois, comme dans les deux premiers tomes on est sur des personnages plus âgés et plus mûrs et qu’ayant maintenant 42 ans, j’aime de plus en plus les personnages plus âges. Tout en adorant les personnages adolescents.. bref tout ça pour dire que j’ai beaucoup beaucoup aimé ce 4eme tome.

J’ai adoré le personnage d’Auggie. C’est quelqu’un de très posé qui se satisfait de sa vie tout en cherchant l’amour. Il fait ce qu’il faut pour être heureux et ne se lamente pas sur son sort. J’aime énormément aimé cet aspect du personnage parce que c’est plutot rare d’avoir ce genre de perso. On sent qu’il est clairement bien dans sa peau, dans sa vie, même s’il aimerai bien lui aussi trouver l’amour. Pour autant ce n’est pas le seul sujet qui l’obsède et qu’il profite de sa vie. Sa relation avec Henry ne sera que du plus pour lui et j’ai adoré ça.

Face à lui, Henry est clairement dans une sale passe. Il traverse un mauvais moment et a du mal à remonter la pente. J’avoue que l’ancien Henry est clairement le type d’homme que je déteste et je suis vraiment contente qu’Auggie ai réussit à lui faire voir les choses autrement. Leur relation est vraiment chouette et j’ai vraiment adorer voir Henry changer au contact d’Auggie et des autres membres de Big Bull Mechanics.

Comme souvent dans les romans de l’auteure, on retrouve plusieurs personnages de ses séries précédentes ou en cours et j’adore vraiment cette petite communauté de Fall Crosse. D’ailleurs, l’auteure en profite pour introduire de nouveaux personnages que j’espère vraiment recroiser prochainement.

Donc j’ai énormément aimé ce tome qui parle de nouveau départ, de recommencer à zéro en se réinventant, de se découvrir, de s’écouter et de décider de ce qui est vraiment bon pour soi. Qui parle de famille, de sang et de coeur. Qui parle d’espoir, d’amitié, d’amour surtout et qui m’ a vraiment laissé avec un sentiment de bien être et de bonheur intense.

Encore une très très bonne lecture d’une auteure que j’aime définitivement beaucoup beaucoup.

ENG – So well well well… well as I told you in my review of the previous book, I liked book 3 slightly less as I found it too focused on sex. Here too there is a lot of sex but I was clearly very touched by the characters which meant that I did not have the same feeling at all as in book 3. Maybe because this time, as in the first two books the characters are older and more mature and that being now 42 years old, I like older characters more and more. While adoring the adolescent characters.. in short, all that to say that I really liked this 4th book.

I loved Auggie . He is a very calm person who is satisfied with his life while looking for love. He does what it takes to be happy and does not lament his fate. I really liked this aspect of the character because it’s rather rare to have this kind of character. We feel that he is clearly ok about his life, even if he too would like to find love. However, it is not the only subject that obsesses him and he enjoys his life. His relationship with Henry will only be good for him and I loved that.

Facing him, Henry is clearly in a bad place. He’s going through a rough patch and struggling to come back up. I admit that the old Henry is clearly the type of man I hate and I’m really happy that Auggie managed to make him see things differently. Their relationship is really nice and I really love seeing Henry change with Auggie and the other members of Big Bull Mechanics.

As often in the author’s novels, we find several characters from her previous or current series and I really love this small Fall Crosse community. Moreover, the author takes the opportunity to introduce new characters that I really hope to meet again soon.

So I really liked this book which talks about new start, starting from scratch by reinventing yourself, discovering yourself, listening to yourself and deciding what is really good for yourself. Which speaks of family, by blood or chosen. Which speaks of hope, friendship, above all love and wicho really left me with a feeling of well-being and intense happiness.

Another great read from an author that I absolutely love.
