Bad Deal (A-List Security #3) de Annabeth Albert

J’espère que vous allez bien. Pour ma part ça va plutot bien. Je vous retrouve aujourd’hui avec la chronique du troisième tome de la série A-List Security d’Annabeth Albert. Vous pouvez retrouver la chronique du tome 2 là. Résumé:

FR- Alors alors…. alors je dois dire que j’ai préféré ce tome aux deux précédents. Si les romans d’Annabeth Albert sont toujours aussi chaud, sexy et prenant, je commençais un peu à me lasser du mec fort et plus âgé qui va protéger un mec plus jeune et plus fragile.

Ici, on retrouve ce qu’Annabeth sait parfaitement bien faire: des personnages mûrs qui ont déjà un vécu derrière eux. Peut être est ce du au fait que j’ai 40 ans mais j’apprécie de plus en plus de lire des romans avec des personnages plus âgés.

Dans ce roman j’ai particulièrement aimé les personnages de Harley et Ambrose. On avait déjà croisé Harley dans les tomes précédents et j’avais hâte d’en savoir un peu plus sur lui. Et je n’ai pas été déçue. J’ai aimé que l’auteure ne s’arrete pas des heures sur la sexualité d’Harley. J’ai aimé qu’il ne cherche pas forcément à se coller une étiquette même si le terme de Pansexuel vient très vite, il est plus là pour affirmer le fait qu’Harley n’est pas hétéro. J’ai aimé qu’il souhaite juste profiter de sa relation naissante avec Ambrose sans trop se poser de question.
J’ai aimé aussi qu’il ne se prenne pas trop la tete avec le fait qu’Ambrose soit son client. Il faut dire que c’est quand meme le troisième a coucher avec son client, il aurai été malvenu que le sujet soit problématique à ce stade de la série.

J’ai également beaucoup aimé le personnage d’Ambrose. J’ai aimé le découvrir, avec ses failles et ses forces. J’ai aimé le voir se battre pour ce en quoi il croit vraiment et s’affranchir d’une partie de ses craintes et de ses peurs.

La relation entre les deux personnages évolue doucement mais surement, il n’y a pas de retour en arrière ou de difficulté particulière. J’ai adoré retrouver les personnages des tomes précédents et en découvrir de nouveau. J’aime qu’on reste dans l’univers du show-business et que l’auteure mélange dans cette série des bodyguards et des stars.

En résumé, ce troisième tome relève pour moi le niveau de la série qui était jusque là sympa mais sans plus. L’auteure se sort des « clichés » empruntés lors des premiers tomes. J’attends le tome 4 avec impatience!!

ENG- So well well well… well I must say that I preferred this volume to the previous two. If Annabeth Albert’s novels are always so hot, sexy and gripping, I was starting to get a little tired of the strong and older guy who will protect a younger and more fragile guy.

Here, we find what Annabeth knows how to do perfectly well: mature characters who already have a background behind them. Maybe it’s because I’m 40, but I’m enjoying reading novels with older characters more and more.

In this novel I particularly liked the characters of Harley and Ambrose. We had already met Harley in the previous volumes and I was eager to know a little more about him. And I was not disappointed. I liked that the author does not stop for hours on Harley’s sexuality. I liked that he doesn’t necessarily try to stick a label even if the term Pansexual comes very quickly, he is more there to affirm the fact that Harley is not straight. I liked that he just wanted to enjoy his budding relationship with Ambrose without asking too many questions.
I also liked that he didn’t get too worked up about Ambrose being his client. It must be said that it is still the third to sleep with his client, it would have been inappropriate for the subject to be problematic at this stage of the series.

I also really liked the character of Ambrose. I liked discovering it, with its flaws and its strengths. I loved watching him fight for what he truly believes in and let go of some of his fears and fears.

The relationship between the two characters evolves slowly but surely, there is no turning back or particular difficulty. I loved reuniting with characters from previous books and discovering new ones. I like that we stay in the world of show business and that the author mixes bodyguards and stars in this series.

In summary, this third volume raises for me the level of the series which was until then nice but nothing more. The author gets out of the « clichés » borrowed from the first volumes. I can’t wait for volume 4!!
