Comment allez vous? Perso ça va super bien parce que les vacances arrivent à grand pas! Je vous retrouve aujourd’hui pour la chronique du deuxieme tome de la série Mischief & Mayhem de Alice Winters (lien de la chronique du tome 1 ici ) . Résumé :

Lake
Snagging the hunter was the easy part. Now I have to prove to him that a life filled with chaos, the most amazing fish ever, and delightful me is so much better than normal—trust me, he isn’t too hard to convince.
But when a group of insolent chimeras laughably think they can target my one true love, they have another thing coming for them—likely death.
With my dubious sidekicks in tow—and Declan, who is as happy as I am to run headfirst into danger—we travel across the country to track down why these chimeras are harassing Declan. But what we find might prove yet again that you never know who the real monster is.

FR- Alors alors…. alors j’avais un peu peur que ce tome débute comme le premier tome avec un peu beaucoup (trop) d’humour. Et même si l’humour reste omniprésent dans ce deuxième tome aussi, ça passe.

J’ai beaucoup aimé ce roman, j’ai passé un très bon moment de lecture et j’ai lu ce roman en très peu de temps. J’ai été heureuse de retrouver Lake et Declan ainsi que les personnages secondaires et j’ai vraiment aimé l’intrigue principale.

L’univers est toujours aussi intéressant, et la relation entre Lake et Declan toujours aussi mignonne. J’aime Lake dans son rôle de male alpha lié principalement à sa condition de Chimère et à son niveau. (oui c’est lui le plus fort). Il est vraiment très possessif et protecteur avec Declan mais sans être étouffant, Declan étant plus que capable de se défendre.

Comme je le disais plus haut, c’est toujours aussi drôle et on ne s’ennui pas une seconde. C’est souvent too much, mais Lake et Declan sont tellement attachants que ça passe. Je pense sincèrement que l’auteure flirt plusieurs fois avec le too much mais si on commence cette série en ayant à l’idée que ça va être de cette teneur, on en fait abstraction et on savoure les péripéties et les catastrophes qu’enchainent les héros.

Les personnage secondaires apportent clairement un plus à l’histoire et l’intrigue est rondement menée. Les scènes d’action sont top et permettent un peu de sérieux même si s’agissant de Lake, les moments drôles ne sont jamais loin.

En résumé, une série à ne surtout pas prendre au sérieux, mais qui vous fera passer un bon moment de lecture et de détente.

ENG- So well well well… well I was a little afraid that this volume would start like the first book with a lot of (too much) humor. And even if the humor remains omnipresent in this second book too, it ‘s ok.

I really liked this novel, I had a great time reading it and I read this novel in a very short time. I was happy to find Lake and Declan as well as the secondary characters and I really liked the main plot.

The universe is still so interesting, and the relationship between Lake and Declan still so cute. I like Lake in his role of alpha male due mainly to his Chimera condition and his level. (yes he is the strongest). He is really very possessive and protective of Declan but without being suffocating, Declan being more than capable of defending himself.

As I said above, it’s always funny and you never get bored for a second. It’s often too much, but Lake and Declan are so endearing that it passes. I sincerely think that the author flirts several times with » too much » but if we start this series having that in mind we disregard it and we savor the hero’s adventures and shenanigans.

The secondary characters clearly bring more to the story and the plot is smoothly conducted. The action scenes are great and allow for a bit of seriousness, although when it comes to Lake, the funny moments are never far away.

In summary, a series not to be taken seriously, but which will make you have a good time reading and relaxing.
