J’espère que vous allez bien. Je vous retrouve aujourd’hui pour vous parler de The Best Parts of Him de Amy Aislin que je remercie pour ce SP. Il s’agit du premier tome d’une nouvelle série et qui suit les personnages que l’on a déjà rencontré dans son roman A Touch of Maple.

FR- Alors alors…. alors comme je vous le dit souvent, Amy Aislin est, pour moi, la reine des romances sur le hockey.
J’avais adoré A Touch of Maple et j’ai adoré retrouver les personnages dans The Best Parts of Him. Si ce dernier peut être lu indépendament, je vous conseille quand même de lire d’abord l’histoire de Bellamy et Jason.
Si j’étais curieuse d’en savoir plus sur Dabbs, j’avoue que Ryland n’était pas mon personnage préféré.
Dans le roman précédent, Ryland n’est clairement pas le personnage le plus agréable mais j’ai découvert une nouvelle facette de lui qui m’a fait complètement craquer. Dabbs reste mon personnage préféré. Il a tout du mec parfait et ne veut que le bien des gens autour de lui malgré son enfance difficile. J’avoue que j’ai eu la larme à l’oeil à plusieurs moment du roman.
Bien entendu, le hockey est au centre de l’histoire.
Quand je dis qu’Amy Aislin est la reine de la romance sur le hockey ce n’est pas pour rien. J’ai adoré tous les passages sur la glace ou dans les coulisses des équipes de hockey. On découvre l’envers du décors et tout ce qui fait d’une équipe ce qu’elle est. Je sais que les romances sur le hockey sont à la mode mais on sent que l’auteure est une passionnée et qu’elle sait de quoi elle parle. Et ça fonctionne très très bien.
The Best Parts of Him est une histoire d’amour, mais aussi une histoire sur la famille.
Que ce soit la famille de sang ou de coeur. C’est un thème récurrent dans les romans de l’auteure et une fois de plus elle maitrise tout cela à la perfection. Les personnages sont super attachants et j’ai vraiment hâte d’avoir le prochain tome (et j’espère d’autres encore après).
Comme toujours, la plume de l’auteure est maitrisée, l’histoire bien rythmée et j’ai passé un très très bon moment de lecture.
En résumé, encore un excellent roman d’une excellente auteure.
ENG-So well well well…well as I often tell you, Amy Aislin is, for me, the queen of hockey romances.
I adored A Touch of Maple and I loved seeing the characters again in The Best Parts of Him. While the latter can be read independently, I still recommend reading Bellamy and Jason’s story first.
While I was curious to learn more about Dabbs, I have to admit that Ryland wasn’t my favorite character.
In the previous novel, Ryland is definitely not the most likable character, but I discovered a new side of him that completely won me over. Dabbs remains my favorite character. He’s the perfect guy and only wants the best for those around him, despite his difficult childhood. I admit I teared up several times during the novel.
Of course, hockey is at the heart of the story.
When I say Amy Aislin is the queen of hockey romance, I’m not exaggerating. I loved all the scenes set on the ice and behind the scenes with the hockey teams. We get a glimpse into the inner workings of the sport and everything that makes a team what it is. I know hockey romances are trendy, but you can tell the author is passionate and knows her stuff. And it works incredibly well.
The Best Parts of Him is a love story, but also a story about family.
Whether it’s blood family or family of the heart, it’s a recurring theme in the author’s novels, and once again she handles it perfectly. The characters are incredibly endearing, and I’m really looking forward to the next book (and hopefully more after that).
As always, the author’s writing is skillful, the story is well-paced, and I had a wonderful time reading it.
In short, another excellent novel from an excellent author.
