Salut mes P’tits Chats!

Eli worked his butt off to earn a spot with the Vermont Trailblazers, and he has absolutely no intention of losing it. Unfortunately, his second NHL season has brought a sophomore slump, an endless parade of team obligations, and the possibility that enthusiasm might not be enough to keep his plates spinning—or keep him from being sent to the minors. So naturally, this is the perfect time for Nolan Madolora—his coach’s son, his sister’s ex, and the man Eli had an impossible crush on a decade ago—to walk back into his life.

Nolan knows a thing or two about not fitting in, which makes getting paid to figure out why the Trailblazers work so well together almost funny—he’s in Vermont to conduct a team culture audit and deliver an objective assessment. What he shouldn’t do is get involved with one of the players, especially when that man is Eli Parker: his ex’s little brother, ten years his junior, and all grown up in ways Nolan is trying very hard not to notice.

When Nolan and Eli stumble across an old set of unsent letters at the arena, amateur sleuthing gives them an excuse to spend more time together—and makes their growing attraction increasingly impossible to resist. Eli’s old crush has a chance of becoming something very real, while Nolan’s carefully maintained objectivity doesn’t stand a chance against the one person he never thought to look at twice. The closer they get—to the truth and to each other—the harder it becomes to remember all the reasons getting involved is a terrible idea.

ENG-So, so… so, Amy Aislin is really an author who never disappoints me

There are some authors whose books I know I’m going to enjoy even before I open them. Amy Aislin is definitely one of them! Over the years, she has won me over with her stories and characters, and I’ve never been disappointed. So, I was delighted to dive into From A to Us, the third and final book in her Vermont Trailblazers series.

I absolutely love this series and the world Amy Aislin has built around this hockey team. Beyond the sport itself, it’s the players, their relationships, and everything surrounding them that I enjoy the most. I love coming back to this team with each new book, discovering each character’s story, and spending more time in a world I’ve grown attached to. It’s always a pleasure to catch up with familiar characters while also meeting new ones who eventually become just as easy to care about.

Eli and Nolan: Two endearing characters

In this final book, we get to follow Eli, the young rookie we met in the previous installment. He’s heading into his second season and has to deal with his own questions and struggles, which aren’t always easy to navigate. I particularly enjoyed following his journey, watching him wrestle with his doubts and try to find his footing. He’s a character I really enjoyed getting to know better, especially because we get to see him grow and move forward throughout the story.

And then there’s Nolan! I loved watching Eli fall in love with him and seeing their relationship develop. Nolan is just as endearing. I really enjoyed getting to know him better and, above all, watching him finally find his place. That was one of the things I appreciated about their story: taking the time to follow these characters, their struggles, and their journeys while watching them move toward something positive. I grew attached to both of them and genuinely enjoyed accompanying them on this adventure.

The pleasure of returning to Amy Aislin’s writing

Once again, Amy Aislin gave me a wonderful reading experience. I love her writing, the way she makes me care about her characters, and the pleasure I get from returning to her fictional worlds. Whenever I pick up one of her books, I know I’m in for a good time, and From A to Us was no exception. That’s exactly what I want from an author I love: to find the things that drew me to her previous books while discovering a new story that makes me want to keep turning the pages.

A lovely conclusion to the Vermont Trailblazers series

I’m naturally a little sad to say goodbye to the Vermont Trailblazers. I’ve really enjoyed following this team and discovering the players’ stories, and there’s always something bittersweet about closing the final book in a series you’ve grown attached to. At the same time, it feels satisfying to bring this journey to a close with Eli and Nolan’s story.

All in all, From A to Us was a wonderful read and a lovely way to wrap up a series I’ve enjoyed so much. I loved returning to the world of the Vermont Trailblazers, following Eli through this new chapter of his life, and watching him build a relationship with Nolan, who is just as endearing. Amy Aislin has once again confirmed that she’s a reliable favorite of mine, and I finished this final book feeling that I’d had exactly the kind of reading experience I was hoping for.

I’m leaving this series with a little pang of sadness, but I’ll remember it very fondly!
